A friend once asked me, “Why do dogs stick their heads out of a window in a moving car?”
I thought for a moment then replied, “Because they want to and they can.”
I can think of any number of reasons why I shouldn’t and wouldn’t stick my head outside of a window, but dogs don’t seem to have any inhibitions about doing things they “shouldn’t” do.
They just do what they do. They are being dogs.
I think that as humans – well, at least it’s this way for me – we tend get trapped “in our heads,” overanalyze “things” and worry too much about what we “should” be doing or “shouldn’t” be doing.
I wish I could be more like Twix (pictured) and just be.
